Formed in the early 1990s by four Armenian-American musicians in Glendale, System of a Down has become a leading alternative-metal band despite not releasing an album in nearly 20 years and making rare live appearances. Co-headliners Deftones, from Sacramento, have been a major force in heavy alternative music for over 30 years, with their sound often compared to the Cure and Radiohead.
